Climbing
From rugged scrambles to sheer faces, climbing
enthusiasts from novice to expert will be tested
on our ancient rock formations.
Popular climbs include the Sawmill Creek Dome, just outside of
Finland; Carlton Peak, just outside of Tofte in Temperance River State Park; Shovel Point at Tettegouche State Park; and Palisade Head, also within Tettegouche State Park, just outside of Silver Bay. Climbing permits are required for locations within State Parks; all climbs along the North Shore are within the chalk free and bolt free zone.
